ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has rejected a statement by India regarding the temple in Adda Siraj, Narowal, saying the place of worship was damaged by heavy rain and the Indian claim is false and politically motivated.
Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjid Haider Khan said Pakistan categorically rejects the Indian statement concerning the Narowal temple, adding that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued the statement for political interests and that it was based on falsehoods.
The spokesperson said that contrary to Indian propaganda, the temple was damaged by torrential rain on July 21, 2026. He added that the local administration had already conducted a survey of the site and rehabilitation measures had been initiated.

Sajjid Haider Khan said it was shameful that India was distorting facts and resorting to cheap theatrics. He said deliberate attempts to distort facts could not divert attention from India’s extremely poor record of systematic exploitation of minorities and state-sponsored attacks on their places of worship.
The Foreign Office said the world was well aware of the use of the Hindutva ideology as a weapon against minorities and should hold the Indian leadership accountable for the continued persecution of Muslim, Sikh and Christian communities.
