KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon has stressed the need to run the country in accordance with the Constitution, stressing the assemblies will decide formation of new provinces or administrative units.
Speaking in the Sindh Assembly session, the minister said the Sindh Assembly has passed a resolutions in on the issue of new provinces several times.
Sharjeel Memon said that Sindh has a 5,000-year-old civilisation and history. Bilawal Bhutto has given the PPP's position on new provinces or administrative units.
The senior provincial minister said that the people of Sindh have a romance with the soil of Sindh. The people of Sindh love Sindh as much as they love Pakistan.
Sharjeel Memon said that the people of Sindh have affection for this soil, we have love and devotion for Sindh.
Sindh Assembly has passed a resolution by majority vote opposing any division of Sindh or the creation of new administrative units in the province.
The resolution was presented in the House by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and was unanimously approved by the members present. Following its passage, PPP lawmakers stood at their seats, holding banners inscribed with the slogan, “Sindh is the motherland.”
According to the resolution, Sindh is one and will remain one, while every proposal seeking to divide the province or alter its boundaries is rejected. It also rejected any plan to separate a district, division or any other area of Sindh.
