ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed eight buildings for not complying with the fire safety rules.

CDA is taking strict action against buildings violating fire safety rules. The authority has expanded the scope of fire safety inspections across Islamabad, during which eight buildings that did not comply with the rules were sealed.

The Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat, State Life Building, TDAP Building, Beverly Center, NIC Building, Crown Plaza, Khudadad Heights Plaza and Envoy Continental Hotel were sealed for non-compliance with fire safety rules.

CDA officials said that Capital Hospital, Polyclinic and PIMS have also been fined Rs5.5million for violating fire safety rules.

Similarly, during the inspection, firefighting equipment, emergency exits, and evacuation arrangements in buildings are being reviewed.

The CDA has directed building owners and management to immediately complete all fire safety arrangements, warning that stricter legal action will be taken in case of continued non-compliance.
